Limitless Expansion

"A.A. is not a plan for recovery that can be finished and done with. It is a way of life, and the challenge contained in its principles is great enough to keep any human being striving for as long as he lives. We do not, cannot, out-grow this plan. As arrested alcoholics, we must have a program for living that allows for limitless expansion. Keeping one foot in front of the other is essential for maintaining our arrestment. Others may idle in a retrogressive groove without too much danger, but retrogression can spell death for us. However, this isn't as rough as it sounds, as we do become grateful for the necessity that makes us toe the line, for we find that we are more than compensated for a consistent effort by the countless dividends we receive."

Registration Rates

ICYPAA is a self-supporting A.A. event. Therefore, each attendee must register for the conference. Hosting a large-scale A.A. event takes money, and the host committee sets its registration fees at the rate they need in order to run a fiscally responsible event. A scholarship fund exists in order to help pay the registration fees for attendees who cannot afford the full registration amount. We want everyone to join in the celebration, so please don’t let the cost of the registration fee keep you from attending ICYPAA. Questions about registration or scholarships? Email: registration@icyhost.org

About Us

Created during our first year as a bid committee in 2008, our mission statement still holds true for the 59th ICYPAA Host Committee, some nine years later: We are an ever-growing group of sober Chicagoans and Illinoisans, diverse in age and sobriety, who want for our city and state a chance to host the International Conference of Young People in AA (ICYPAA). We are committed to unifying newcomers and young people in AA, generating enthusiasm and participation for ICYPAA and ultimately creating a group of excited and capable AA members who can help bring the 59th ICYPAA to Chicago, Illinois. Throughout our pursuit, we aim to share our experiences with others, honor the traditions and spiritual principles of AA, and carry a message of gratitude, service, and fellowship. Get in touch with us directly via email at 59thhost@icypaa.org

What is ICYPAA?

The International Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (ICYPAA) was founded for the purpose of providing a setting for an annual celebration of sobriety among young people in AA. Since its inception, a growing group of people, who at first would not consider themselves as "young people" has become regular attendees. The number of young people suffering from alcoholism who turn to AA for help is growing, and ICYPAA helps to carry AA's message of recovery to alcoholics of all ages. This meeting provides an opportunity for young AA's from all over the world to come together and share their experience, strength, and hope as members of Alcoholics Anonymous. AA members who attend an ICYPAA return home better prepared to receive young people who come to AA looking for a better way of life.
